Reenacting is the recreation of historical events by modern participants. It may be a copy of an actual event, or a display put on to show certain aspects of history. It is a set activity for the audience to watch.
Living History is an educational activity that is used to teach a specific period by the portrayal of an individual from that time frame. It is closely related to acting, but requires audience participation. There is no script, as it is replaced with research into the character's life and times. This allows a free forum for flow of information from the portrayer to the audience, as if you could talk to a person out of time.
